Introducing...
Theatre Farm R&D Retreat
The Theatre Farm R&D Retreat Project will return in 2017, please email to join the mailing list or keep an eye on here for info.
Are you an emerging theatre practitioner / company who wants to develop a new project for children or young people or a mid-career artist looking for a fresh perspective? If so, read on…
The Theatre Farm Research and Development Retreat, set up by Sam Worboys of Worboys Productions, is a fantastic opportunity for theatre practitioners who want to develop a piece of theatre for children or young people. The Retreat, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, offers free barn studio spaces, outdoor areas, glamping accommodation and Mess Tent for a 12 day creative residency for up to 3 new projects (12 artists max between 2-3 companies).
During the Retreat, there will be time for artists to work on projects as well as opportunities for group discussions, sharings of work and one to one sessions with experienced consultants in various fields of the industry (writer, designer, marketeer, dramaturg and producer). At the end of the Retreat, participants will have the opportunity to present their work informally at associated theatres to raise awareness of and promote their work to invited industry professionals.
The key aim of the Retreats are to support the development of work, so artists will maintain control over their creative output.
Applications are welcome from individuals and companies.

The farm is available, outside of the organised Theatre Farm R&D Retreats, for solo companies/projects throughout the summer season (June-Sept). Profits go to support the annual Theatre Farm Retreat and those artists attending.
